Opening night! From my show. They're fantastic. Anyway. Tonight was opening night, and it was AMAZING. I loved every second of it and we had a cast party afterwards which was a lot of fun.

I've been at cheerleading camp for the past four days at Appalachian State University in North Carolina. It was A LOTTTT of stress and hard work and sweat and blood and tears and swollen ankles and bruised knees, but it was all worth it in the end. We got 1st place in the large Varsity division on our dance routine that we did the first night. It was a dance that we'd worked really hard on at home to bring to camp. (: We also got 1st place in the Extreme Routine which consists of a dance, chant & cheer along with stunts and tumbling incorporated into it. We learned the dance, chant and cheer at the camp and had those four days to work on it. While neither of those routines went perfectly ( there were some girls off in the home dance routine and a stunt didn't hit in the extreme routine) we still managed 1st place. Its awesome to think that if we did everything perfectly, we could have scored even higher (in scores, not places, obviously haha). Anyway, I have some funny videos from what we during our down time.

More TSG Rehearsal Videos Wick again. This time its a little sillier. Haha All the black & white parts were where they were being either silly or just plain messing up. The Girl I Mean to BeSeveral clips of this number being put together In this one, the man is Albert, Mary's daughter. This part is a dream sequence. So the girl that's dancing with Albert is Mary, only in her dreams.

TSG Cast Pictures. (:
The lead's of my show went a couple days ago to get publicity photos taken. So here are some of them. If I get more I'll post them. (: Mary-Rily & Hannah (Mary)The part of "Mary" is double cast, meaning they'll switch off every other night. These are the two girls who play her. Mary-Riley (Mary), Chris (Archibald), Linda (Lily)Lily is Mary's dead mother's sister (or more easily, aunt). Lily is also dead. Archibald (or more fondly known as Archie) is Lily's widower. This picture really doesn't do Linda (Lily) justice at all. She's so pretty. Hannah (Mary) & Scott (Dickon)This picture also doesn't do the two of them justice. They're much cuter in person. (: This is our poster. I think a guy in California designed it or something?

TSG rehearsals. (: This is from the production I'm in. This is the first rehearsal they did off-book with full choreography. It's still a little shaky, and is normally a lot better than this. But it's going to be really cute when they're finished. (: BTW: they're both belters, but they couldn't sing loud cause they couldn't hear the tape. (thats all we had today). And I don't know why "Mary" was flat on some parts. Haha she's normally outstanding. Gives me chills. And choreography was shaky too. :/ But trust me. Its so cute full-full out. And I wish you could see their expressions. They're so cute together.

TSG
Okay, so at rehearsals Friday night, I was there for about two hours. And I swear we blocked (arranged the placement of the characters, for you non-theatre/dancer people. haha) like 5 different songs in two hours. And that might not sound like a lot. But when she's doing 10+ characters on a TINY stage at the same time... its a lot to handle. Each one of every person's movements matters to everyone else. If you step the wrong way, you bump into someone. It was insane. Anyway, not much other than that. Oh yeah, I saw Pirates of the Caribbean 3 again with my aunt. And we went fabric shopping for her to make me some clothes (she's really good. (: ). AND we picked out a pattern for my Halloween costume this year. I'm very into Halloween. So I'm really excited. It's an EXACT replica of Keira Knightley's first dress in Pirates of the Caribbean (the first movie). It's gorgeous. I can't wait for us to get started on it. And I found a site where you can buy the necklace with the medalion (spelling?) on it for pretty cheap, so I'm going to get that to complete my look. Plus, a lot of people say I resemble Keira Knightley. So its going to be pretty cool. (:

The Secret Garden rehearsals
okay quick story from rehearsals tonight. we blocked this one scene. and i don't know if any of you have seen the secret garden, but its a pretty sad story. and i think the musical is even more sad & dramatic than the movie, but i don't know cause its been a while since i've seen the movie. but the director, dedra, is trying to squeeze as much comedy as she can out of it. so there's this one scene where i'm on stage, and i'm a "ghost", so i show no emotion. and this one scene is so funny, and i can't show any emotion. there's one part where i have to do these motions while the little girl is speaking in Hindi, and the translation is basically "i want you to die. go drown yourself. you big fat ugly person" or something like that and the motions go along with it. and its so hard to keep a straight face. then the girl goes absolutely crazy. the way dedra explained it was "think exorcist, only funny." haha so pretty much spirits are inhabiting her. quite funny.

TSG
Okay more TSG (The Secret Garden) stuff. I'm not so out of place anymore. Maria & Bobby are the two people that I'm probably going to mention the most since they're in all of my scenes with me. Maria is 18, but yet she's still the closest to my age. Except Leighton, who is a year younger & the director's daughter. Today we got to go to the actual stage to work on some blocking. We'd been working in the building next door, the Weekend Gallery. So to finally get on the stage was a lot of fun. Except that it was really early in the morning and me and Maria were both halfway asleep. I can already tell that me and her are going to have a hard time being on stage together and keeping straight faces. Our characters "die" early on in the show.. so we have to have these solemn, deadlike faces on the whole time when we're not dancing. And we have to stand like statues while Bobby's character is doing something really silly. In the show, Fakir (Bobby's character) is also dead, so he's ghostlike as well. But there's a part where Maria and I are centerstage and Fakir scares the maids by making some loud noise along with some crazy Indian (from India.. not American Indian) pose. Quite funny. And its really hard not to laugh. Anyway, thats all for now. Next week is hell week, when my cheerleading starts overlapping with TSG practices. 1:30-3:30, cheerleading. Then any time after 5 is subject to be called in for TSG. Actually scratch that. Not just next week is hell.. but for the next three weeks until my production is over.

I don't even know if anyone reads this anymore. But if anyone has been wondering why I haven't had anymore music up recently, I'll tell you why now. My friend & producer, Ben, just had a fire (? Or something like that) in his studio that messed up a lot of his equippment. Plus he just got a huge deal with his band. They're doing a show with The Ataris, which is majorly huge. So he's been busy. & I did get my puppy for my bday. Her name is Maddie, after Ashley Tisdale's character on the Suite Life of Zack & Cody. Fortunately I've had rehearsals for The Secret Garden to keep me busy. I learned an entire like.. 5 minute dance routine in about 10 minutes. It was insanely fast. My first rehearsal I felt really out of place because it felt like everyone already knew each other, but by my second day I'd met some of the older cast members and they made me feel welcome. Yesterday during rehearsals, we started to learn the choreography for the opening number. We get to do a really cool lift with one of the younger girls. I wanted to show an actual picture of it, but seeing as I can't find one.. this will have to do. Then I go in front of her and push up, with one hand on the front of each of her thighs until my arms are fully extended above my head and she looks like this in the air with the two people still on either side of her, her arms straight out, legs uncrossed. And then she bends up like this only she won't be broken cause she won't be badly photoshopped like this haha. And her head will be tilted back a little. And then somehow we get her down out of that.

Hey guys! Okay so I'm kinda mad that the Ashley Tisdale Contest results haven't been posted yet. They were supposed to be up WEDNESDAY but its all good. I can wait. We didn't have school today. So I went to take my drivers license test, and passed. Then my grandparents brought my great aunt's (who is no longer able to drive cause she's legally blind) car for me. Its a 2003 Toyota Corolla. Not as cute as my mom's 07 Beetle, but its drivable. But I can use the Beetle when my mom doesn't need it. My first trip driving by myself was to my hair appointment. I got it dyed again cause my roots were starting to show. Thats about it for now. (:

School was great today. A lot of people have added my music myspace from school & a lot more listened to my song on my iPod today and every one was really positive about it. They were all like "No way, thats you?? thats really good!" and Lora, one of my bffs, wrote me this REALLY sweet note saying how she knew what it was like to go against what every one else is saying to make your dreams happen, because she has to do that all the time with dance (she's an extremely talented dancer). And she said how proud she was of me and that after high school we're going to move out to Cali so she can work on her dancing and I can work on music/acting. I'm definitely going to college there, too. But yeah, I'll post more later.

Hey guys! I went to Ben's house today to record! It was so much fun. We did a rerecording of Ashley Tisdale's Be Good to Me for the youtube contest I'm entering. Next week I'm making a music video for it. :) He was so easy to work with. I was extremely nervous but he kept giving me good feedback. :D So yeah, I made a music myspace, and if you guys want to add me feel free! http://www.myspace.com/katiemfosheeI love new friends! Haha But yeah, I posted on jesseforum.com to see what some other people's opinions were about it. One person said I was better than Ashley, one said I should make a CD so they could buy it and one person even added my song to his myspace!! It was so cool. I feel like my bigtime dreams are actually possible now. Anddd youtube video: http://youtube.com/profile?user=katiefosheeSo yeah, feedback is great. :) Oh yeah, and I got a part in that play I auditioned for! :D |
